Shelby Jean Colbert, age 85, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Lynchburg Nursing Center in Lynchburg, TN. She was born in Lawrence County, AL on June 7, 1940, daughter of the late Marlon and Minnie Flannagan Cox. Mrs. Colbert was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: James Ernest ‘Jim’ Colbert; and grandchild: Bennett Gattis.

Mrs. Colbert is survived by her daughters: Susanna (Tim) Gattis and Vickie (Scott) Fee; sons: Jimmy (Jean) Colbert, Tim (Delia) Colbert, Phillip (Christina) Colbert and Marcus Colbert; grandchildren: Jay (Kristin) Colbert, Stephanie (Chris) Hendon, Mary Beth (Patrick) Head, Clint (Victoria) Colbert, Lindsay (Sam) Hilburn, Whitney (Tyler) Ward, Sydney (Kyle) East, James Fee, Carly (Gunnar) Fee, Austin Colbert, Olivia Colbert and Hannah (Shawn) Colbert; great grandchildren: Kylar, Charlie, Gray, Andy, Ben, Christopher, Riley, Shelby, Thomas, Lucas, Asher and Shane; sisters: Shirley Jean Steakley and Bobbie Faye Naylor; and brothers: Loyd Cox, Larry Wayne Cox and AJ Cox.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

A private burial was held in Prospect Cemetery.
