McKinley Taylor Jr., age 79, transitioned to his new life on October 4, 2025. He graduated from Marshall High School and was employed and retired from Heil Quaker. He proudly served in the United States Army, the National Guard, and two tours of duty in Vietnam and Iraq. A proud member of Greater First Baptist Church, McKinley was funny, and fun loving. He loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed going on his annual fishing trips until his health began to fail.
He is survived by his granddaughter McKinya Crawford, Stepsons Rodney (Vocky) Keith of Fayetteville, and Darron (Johanna) Keith, of LaVergne TN. Step-grandchildren Ryan Keith, James Keith, Sydney Keith, Lisbeth Rodriguez, Paris Hammonds, Lundan Hammonds, Angela Dickerson, Norvell Turner, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Brothers Will (Cheryl) Taylor of Lewisburg TN, and Fred (Patricia) Taylor of Flint Michigan. He is also survived by his sisters Martha Carolyn Taylor, and Theresa McQuiddy of Flint Michigan. Brothers-in-law, Thomas Whitaker of Fayetteville, and Harvey Inman of Lawrenceburg, TN. McKinley had a special cousin, Grace Parks of Lewisburg TN.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, McKinley Taylor Sr. and Martha Lee Taylor. Geneva Taylor (wife), Marquitta Taylor (daughter), sister and brother-in-law Connie (Harvey) Taylor, and his grandparents. Also, Minnie Taylor (mother of his daughter). McKinley will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Homegoing Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Greater First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
