Lyda Smotherman, age 82, of Flintville, TN, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 11, 1943, in Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late George Washington & Alice Michael Woods. She worked as a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister: Paulene Walden; brothers: Gordon Woods, Clyde Woods, Clifford Woods, Lester Woods and William “Shorty” Woods; and grandson: James Williams, IV.

She is survived by her daughter: Tabitha (Andy) Williams; sons: Terry (Irene) Whitsett, William Whitsett, Paul (Jennifer) Whitsett; grandchildren: Tim, Kim, Terrie-Lynn, Patrick, Cassie, Julia, Harley, Brianna, Jordaan, Brandon, Jenness; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and sister: Faye Colvett.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home.
