Lillian Watt Simpson, age 94, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Donalson Care Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 6, 1931, in Petersburg, TN, the daughter of the late William Rufus Watt and Wilma Louise Twitty . Mrs. Simpson devoted twenty-five years of service to the State of Tennessee at the Lincoln County Health Department. She was a devout and faithful member of Highland Independent Church as long as her health would allow her to be active. A proud member of the Civitans Club, she poured her love into sewing, cooking, and caring for others. In her retirement, nothing meant more to her than the time she shared with her family, who were truly the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Frank Nelson Simpson; and brother-in-law: Jerry Dunivan.

She is survived by her sons: Larry (Barbara) Simpson of Fayetteville, TN and Mike (Beverly) Simpson of Union Grove, AL; grandchildren: Teresa (Josh) Eakin, Carrie (Jeremy) Stokes, and Megan (Scott) Cooley; great grandchildren: Julie, Bekah, Ella, Ethan, Tessa Kate, and Graham; sister: Frances Dunivan of Petersburg, TN; and sisters-in-law: Jean Harsh of Gallatin, TN and Kitty (Jimmy) Davis of Arab, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
