Lance McRay Crabtree, age 47, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born in Richmond, VA on June 14, 1977, to the late Mack Ray Crabtree and Patsy Crabtree, who survives. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Robbie Dimmette and very special uncle: Bobby Call.
Lance was employed at Direct Coil and worked at Goodman for many years prior. He worked part time for many years as a grill chef at several local restaurants. He was an excellent cook and was very well known in the community for his skills.
Growing up he attended Howell Hill Baptist Church in Lincoln County, TN and Broadus Memorial Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia as he spent most summers there with his beloved granny, Robbie.
Lance never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with a smile and warm heart. He loved his family unconditionally, especially his nieces and nephews, who were his pride and joy. On any given day when they were growing up, he could be found at their games, school events, birthdays, or just going to watch a movie and hang out. It's unlikely that he ever met a child that didn't love and adore him.
He was a good friend to many, and would lend a helping hand to anyone, always without any expectation of anything in return. His heart was always genuine.
To say he loved sports is an understatement as he was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan from a young age, and his love for baseball began as a boy. He would often throw a ball with his nephews, as well as shoot hoops, watch a football game, play a video game or even take a dip in the pool. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his people.
Lance spent his spare time listening to good music, riding back roads, going to the river, hanging with friends, enjoying his dogs that meant so much to him, or just relaxing and having a good laugh with a friend.
He will always be remembered as Bubba to his nieces and nephews, Lancelot to some, but most importantly as brother, and son, to those who loved him the most.
His time on earth was short, but his memory will last a lifetime in our hearts.
In addition to his mother, Lance is survived by his sister: Robbie (Michael) Bates; brother: Johnathan (Alicia) Crabtree; half-siblings: Michelle Crabtree Thornburg, Cindy Crabtree Durrette, and Roxanne Crabtree; very special nieces: Kara Layman, Alexis (Chris) Olah, Ashley Durrette and Kayla Durrette; very special nephews: Kobe McCoy, Kade McCoy, Austin (Raven) Hines and Alan Burgess; many great nieces, great nephews, special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Lincoln County, Tennessee as well as Richmond, Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Ogle officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Lance McRay Crabtree.
