Joyce Kelso Johnson, age 89, of Fayetteville, TN, passed from this life on Friday, April 25, 2025. She was born September 22, 1935, to the late Newton Jefferson Kelso and Daisie Mae Kelso.

Joyce loved to spend time cooking and entertaining friends and family. She was a lifetime member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Joyce retired from the Department of Human Services after a long career.

She is preceded in death by her husband: W.C. “Bill” Johnson; brother: Joe Kelso; sisters: Lauryne Allen and Rebecca Kelso; and granddaughter: Lindey Jane Gifford.

Survivors include her son: Bill Johnson; three daughters: Jennie (Terry) Jobe, Renee’ (Paul) Caldwell, and Mary Jo (Don) Counts; grandchildren: Charles (Bonnie) Caldwell, Margaret (Jake) Campbell, Joseph (Cary) Caldwell, Lauryn (Jason) Jeans, Ethan (Rachel) Johnson, Sara Lane (Luke) Stanly, and Chelsea (Eric) Berngruber; and great-grandchildren: Hannah Caldwell, Noah Campbell, Lincoln, Ladd, and Layla Caldwell, Hattie and Parker Jeans, Charlotte Jean Johnson, Oliver and Eleanor Stanly, and Liam Berngruber.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church or Shriners Hospital.
