Jimmy Madison Marrs, age 82, of Flintville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital. He was born in Lincoln County, TN on September 8, 1943, son of the late Floyd A. & Idella George Marrs. Mr. Marrs was a veteran of the National Guard and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a devoted Christian who loved his Lord, his family, and his church. He especially enjoyed working in the woodshop with his grandson Casey and spending time with his great-granddaughters, Ella and June.
Jimmy worked for a construction company installing machinery during the startup of Amana. He was hired on September 23, 1968, and worked in the maintenance department for 37 years until his retirement. Jimmy was self-taught and had a gift for fixing anything.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Linda Faye Walker Marrs; sisters: Lib Burcham, Avis Luttrell, Rachel Steel and Inez Hulsey; and brothers: Lee Marrs, Junior Marrs and Isaac Marrs.
Mr. Marrs is survived by his daughter: Penny (Troy) Massey; grandson: Casey (Montana) Massey; great-grandchildren: Ella James Massey and June Faye Massey; sister: Mary Ruth May; sister-in-law: Marie Marrs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. John Ben Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family is Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
