Jay Davis Palmer “Jake”, age 67, transitioned to his new life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, AL. He was born on July 23, 1958, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Joshua & Lucille Palmer.
He was educated in the Lincoln County school system, graduating from Central High in 1976. After high school he attended Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, TN. He later transferred to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN where he was an active member of the Kool Club. After attending college, he was employed at several jobs before deciding on a career with Eagle Snacks Inc. which later changed to Frito Lay, where he was employed until his retirement in 2020. Jay Davis confessed in Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John Primitive Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his devoted partner Jackie Fletcher; brothers: Alvin (Queen) Palmer and Charles Ray Palmer; sister: Virgie (Larry) Edmiston; nieces: Camille Britton, Stacie Vance, Tracie Vance, Courtney (Nickie) McNair, Taisha (Randall) Fletcher and Katosha Palmer; nephew: Anthony Greene; great nieces and nephews: Josh Britton, Dejah Lineberger, Jessie Bonner, Makayla Ridley, Aterrion Travis, Bleu Fletcher, R.J. Fletcher, John Novak, William Greene and Gabriel Greene; great-great nephew: Chase Adkins; Jake also leaves a host of cousins, close friends, and loved ones, as well as devoted friends: Cortez Carmichael, Tony Hockett, Harold Dixon, Valerie Wells, Ann Randolph, and Mitchell Lay.
Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral hom
