JW Patterson, 80, (just hours before his 81st birthday) of Belvidere, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024. He was born on January 17, 1943, to the late John W Patterson and Louise Brown Patterson Stewart.

He was a lifelong farmer (dairy and beef cattle). He and his youngest brother, Donnie, worked together for 50 years. They were business partners at their Belvidere farm from 1990 until his death. He loved his simple life and would often joke about selling and moving to a shack in the woods. He was a kindhearted, selfless and humble man. He took care of everyone and never asked for anything in return. He was the eldest and was a father figure to his younger siblings. He raised his granddaughters, Brittany and Heather, as his own, who both adored him and, as well as their children. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his great grandchildren and his pups. He was a great marksman with a rifle and his favorite was squirrel hunting. He liked good comedies and westerns. He was a NASCAR racing fan, he loved old Dodge and Plymouth muscle cars. He also enjoyed old outlaw country music, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and early music by the Beatles. He was a great cook. He was all in all a great man and will truly be missed by many who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; sister, Velvie (Maurice "Pee Wee") Pack; stepson, Wayne Graves; and stepdaughter, Sherri Estrada.

He is survived by: granddaughters (raised as his own children), Brittany Lynne Baggett and husband, John Darren Baggett of Belvidere with their children, Kalynn Caroline Baggett, John Weston Baggett (named after JW) and Adaline Charlotte Baggett; Heather Mariee George and partner, Dustyn Hardy Garrett, of Belvidere, with their children Raelynne Jae Lea Garrett and Hardy Cordell Garrett.
