Freddie Clay Ricketts, age 77, of Plevna, AL, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Freddie was born on June 19, 1947, in Madison County, AL, to the late Louis and Mildred Ricketts. He graduated from Huntland High School in 1965. Over the years, he ran several businesses, including Ricketts’ Body Shop, Ricketts' Trucking, and Ricketts' Service Station. Most recently, he and his father owned and operated chicken houses for Tyson Poultry where they were recognized as top quality growers within their region. Freddie loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed family dinners, mowing yards, watching auto restoration shows, and spending time with his dog.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Kelly Ricketts and Rev. & Mrs. Emmett Ray Echols; son-in-law: Bruce Warden; and his beloved dog Ike.

Mr. Ricketts is survived by Pamela Shores; his daughters: Carla Warden, Stacy (Mike) Ellis and Brandi (Trey) Phillips; his sons: Clay Ricketts and Lee Shores; three grandchildren: Nicholas (Mackenzie) Warden, Will Ellis and Allie Jae Phillips; great grandchildren: Winston Warden and Elsie Warden; sister: Patsy Steakley; his canine companion Sky; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Elora Cemetery. Visitation with the family is Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
