Franklin ”Bud” Syler, age 74, of Flintville, TN, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, peacefully in his home. He was born in Lincoln County, TN on March 29, 1949, son of the late Buford Syler and Nell McCormick Syler. Bud lived a full and blessed life characterized by work, farming, and family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great grandson: Elisha Jakob Anderson-Moore.

Mr. Syler is survived by his wife of 55 years: Roberta Syler; daughters: Sharon Shockley Walls, Annette (Joey) Pritchard, and Amanda (Dwayne) Bolin; grandchildren: Lee (Neisha) Shockley, Justin Shockley, Chasity (Faron) Lashaway, Bradley (Amber) Pritchard, Lara Pritchard, Tiffany (Rick) Bolin, Tyler (Shonna) Bolin, and Trever Bolin; great grandchildren: Isabella, Hunter, Christian, Logan, Devon, Aubrey, Silas, Carter, Lainey, Kyle, and Karlie; great-great grandson: K.J.; brothers: Jim (Clyditha) Syler and Mark (Janice) Syler; and sisters: Nancy (Tommy) Towery and Cindy Thompson.

Bud was a faithful member of the Estill Springs Church Of God. He retired from Amana/Goodman Corporation after 47 years of hard work and dedication. He spent his life farming, raising tobacco and cattle, and finding any projects of his own or of others to micromanage. He was good at bossing everyone around. In his spare time, he loved fishing, picking and shelling pecans, watching westerns, playing cards, having fish fry’s, and picking and aggravating all those he loved.

Bud’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will forever remain in the memories we cherish.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Don Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
