Edward Leon Crabtree, age 84, of Petersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Alabama City, AL on January 14, 1941, to the late Rev. Willard Thomas Preston Crabtree and Ruby Cahela Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree honorably served as a veteran of the United States Navy (Retired) and later retired from a distinguished career at the Marshall Space Flight Center.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by twin sisters who died at birth.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by his wife: Elsie Nunn Crabtree; daughter: Priscilla Adams-DuMont of Huntsville, AL; sons: Philip Edward Crabtree and wife, Jana Raye, and Patrick Maurice Crabtree all of Petersburg; grandchildren: Noelani Green, Bailey Crabtree, Savannah Strader of husband Isaac, Hunter Crabtree, Molly Crabtree, Toby Crabtree, Rachel Crabtree and Tray Talley; great grandchild: Sutton Crabtree; sister: Elizabeth Fulmer of Attalla, AL; and brothers: Preston Crabtree and wife Janet of Douglasville, GA, Charles Crabtree of Gadsden, AL, Olen Crabtree and wife Karen of San Diego, CA, Jackie McCormick and wife Deborah of Glencoe, AL and Benny McCormick and wife Marinel of San Diego, CA.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Petersburg First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
