It is with a profound sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores M. Marable. She passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while but their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Marable, her parents, William Francis Mahathey and Mattie Lee Boyd Mahathey. She is also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Gay Marable.
Dolores was a pastor’s wife who understood the challenges that accompanied that title and faced them willingly. She was an inspiration to her husband and her family. Dolores was also a retired rural mail carrier.
Left to cherish her memories are one daughter: Cara (Tracy) Adams of Athens, AL; one son: Jeff Marable of Toney, AL; two granddaughters: Bailey (Frank) Noor and Rebekah Adams; one great granddaughter: Kori Reeves; sister: Patricia Megnin; niece: Debbie Armesteadt; and a host of friend that she cherished and loved.
There will be a visitation on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Hanback and Bro. Glyn Pool officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge. Burial will follow in Golightly Cemetery.
The children of Dolores Marable would like to acknowledge all the caregivers who gave excellent care to our precious mother. Her children also wish to recognize the staff of Fleming Farm for their care.
