Brenda Fay Smith, age 74, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1951, in Lincoln County, TN, the daughter of the late Odie & Nellie Taylor Coats. She was a devoted member of the Church of God faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Dwight Coats.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, G.T. Smith; sons: Carey (Gisela) Smith and Scotty Smith; grandchildren: Tyler (Shelby) Smith, Ashley (Eric) Smith, Celica (A.J.) Mitchell, Noah Smith, Alex Allar and Kerri Laray Smith; great grandchildren: Zeke Mitchell, Opie Mitchell, Ace Mitchell, Marley Elliott, Lane Elliott and Jayden Hasting; sisters: Sandra Kennemer (Gerry) Satterfield, Kala Gardner, Donna (Larry) Ashley and Debbie (Rodney) Bell; brothers: Aaron (Janice) Coats and Alton (Melba) Coats; and special friend: Jennifer Sullivan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Stoney Luna, Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
