Betty Jane Koonce, age 66, of Flintville, TN, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Lincoln County, TN on July 15, 1959, to the late Jesse Lee and Nellie Marie Dunn Whitfield.

Betty was a dedicated and faithful employee who retired after 30 years of service with Amana, Goodman, and Daikin. She was an active member of Lincoln Baptist Church and faithfully served in the church kitchen. She loved working alongside the ladies of the church and found great joy in serving the children and other members of the congregation.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Roy Mitchell Koonce; sister: Nancy Swing; parents-in-law: John Calvin and Mary Koonce; sisters-in-law: Alice Marie, Amy Cargile and Sherry Koonce; and brothers-in-law: Tommy Cargile and Thomas Swing.

She is survived by her son: Troy (Sammy Jo) Koonce; grandchildren: Jax, Trace, and Ava Koonce; brother: Lee Whitfield; sister-in-law: Ann (Tommy) Holder; brothers-in-law: Terry (Mary Jo) Koonce and Georgie Koonce; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Ian Bloxham officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.
