Anita Fay George Anderson, age 85, of Mulberry, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Lynchburg Nursing Center surrounded throughout the day by family and many friends. She was born on October 10, 1940 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, to the late James (Jim) Madison George and the late Bessie Gattis George. She is preceded in death by her late beloved husband of 62 years, JB Anderson. Also preceded in death by her three brothers: JL George, Willie George, and Joe George.

Anita, known to many as “Granny Ma”, was a blessing to all who knew her. The Lord came first in her life. She was a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. After the passing of her husband, she enjoyed attending the various churches with her children where she met many new friends. She was a homemaker and a mother of four children, but babysat and cared for many of the children in the community. Besides spending time with her family, her hobbies included embroidery, quilting, word search books, playing dominoes and triominos, gardening, and raising some of the most beautiful flowers such as her dinner plate dahlias, roses, and peonies. She believed in sharing the first gathering of her vegetables with her family, neighbors, and friends before partaking herself.

Anita is survived by her children: Wanda (Jimmy) Simmons of Lynchburg, TN, Randy (Pam) Anderson of Huntland, TN, Carol (Eric) Mann of Flintville, TN, and Larry (Sara McNeal) Anderson of Ardmore, TN. Grandchildren: Bryan Simmons, Kyle Anderson, Brianna (Tommy) Crabtree, Seth (Hope) Mann, Olivia Mann, Megan Anderson, Dustin Anderson, and Dylan Anderson. Great grandchildren: Zacharias Simmons, Elliott Adams, and Sonny Mann. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Hank Crim officiating. Burial will follow in Champ Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m.
