Remembering the Life of
Fred "Big John" Ellis
April 17, 1952 - September 15, 2023
Fred “Big John” Ellis, age 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville, AL. He was born in Blytheville, AR on December 27, 1946 to the late Fred Johnson and Helen Patricia Godwin Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a truck driver and Veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife: Carolyn Ellis; two daughters: Dawn Marie Stewart and Victoria Marie Givens (David); four sons: Melvin David Brown, Fred Murrell Ellis (Valerie), Patrick Parker Ellis (Dana) and David Shan Ellis; brother: Joseph Samuel Ellis (Cathy); thirteen grandchildren: Terry Robert Handson, Amanda Lynn Ellis, Justin Stewart (Olivia), Jebidiah Stewart, Taylor Ellis, Conner David Brown, Jaima Lynn Brown, Amanda Ellis, Parker Ellis, Blake Gregory (Lindsey), Cassondra Lashelle Ellis, David Ellis Givens and Megan Elise Givens; great granddaughter: Aurora Jade Stewart; and niece: Courtney Ellis.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Fayetteville Church of God with Rev. Ron Wood officiating.
